Getting Here & Accommodation

The conference takes place at the University of Education Weingarten (Pädagogische Hochschule Weingarten), Kirchplatz 2, 88250 Weingarten, Germany. Weingarten is a small town in the Upper Swabia region of southern Germany, directly adjacent to the larger town of Ravensburg.

A quick note on where to base yourself: while the conference is in Weingarten, we generally recommend staying in neighbouring Ravensburg. It has the main railway station and a larger selection of hotels, and it’s only a short, frequent bus ride from the venue.

 

By Train

Ravensburg is well connected by regional and long-distance trains, e.g. via Ulm and Friedrichshafen.

From Ravensburg main station, take bus line 1 towards Weingarten. Buses run about every 15 minutes and reach the town centre in roughly 15 minutes.

 

By Air

The two closest airports are small regional airports:

  • Bodensee Airport Friedrichshafen (FDH): approx. 25 km, the most convenient option. The Bodensee-Oberschwaben-Bahn (BOB) regional train stops right at the airport and reaches Ravensburg and Weingarten in about 15 -20 minutes.
  • Allgäu Airport Memmingen (FMM) — approx. 72 km


For international travellers, Zurich (ZRH) and Stuttgart (STR) are larger airports with far more flight connections, but they require an additional 2–3 hours of onward travel by train, bus or car/taxi.

By Car

The venue address is Kirchplatz 2, 88250 Weingarten. Parking in central Weingarten is limited, the university provides a parking map (see links below). If you are staying in Ravensburg, we recommend leaving the car and taking the bus.
